The Yavapai County Republican Women are thrilled to host Superintendent Tom Horne, Arizona’s State Superintendent of Public Instruction, as our guest speaker for this critical and timely meeting.

About Tom Horne
With an impressive career spanning every branch of government, Tom Horne brings unmatched expertise and insight into the challenges and opportunities facing Arizona’s education system.

• Local Leadership: 24 years on the board of the state’s third-largest school district, including 10 years as president.

• Legislative Excellence: A member of the legislature and former chair of the Academic Accountability Committee, where he elevated the level of debate and focus on educational improvement.

• Executive Impact: Served as Arizona’s State Superintendent of Schools from 2003 to 2011, followed by a term as State Attorney General, where he argued in courts at every level, including the U.S. Supreme Court.

• Judicial Service: Judge pro tem in the Superior Court and the Court of Appeals.

• Academic Accomplishments: Graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College and with honors from Harvard Law School.

In addition to his extensive public service, Tom is a skilled classical pianist who has soloed with orchestras such as the Yuma Orchestra and the Scottsdale Philharmonic.
